Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your relationship with AG Tutoring (“we,” “our,” or “us”) as a tutor on our platform. By applying to and accepting tutoring opportunities with AG Tutoring, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. Eligibility & Application
1.1. Tutors must be aged 18 or over.
1.2. Tutors must be current university students or graduates with demonstrable academic excellence (minimum requirements: strong GCSE and A-level results, or equivalent).
1.3. All information provided in the application process (including academic results and qualifications) must be accurate and complete. Submission of false or misleading information may result in immediate termination.
1.4. AG Tutoring reserves the right to verify academic records, request references, and conduct background checks.
2. Engagement Status
2.1. Tutors are engaged on a self-employed basis. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as creating an employer–employee relationship.
2.2. Tutors are responsible for their own tax affairs, including declaring income to HMRC and paying any applicable taxes or National Insurance contributions.
2.3. AG Tutoring does not provide employment rights such as holiday pay, sick pay, or pensions.
3. Professional Conduct
3.1. Tutors must:
Conduct themselves professionally at all times.
Be punctual and reliable for all sessions.
Provide a supportive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
3.2. Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate conduct towards students, parents, or AG Tutoring staff will result in immediate termination.
3.3. Tutors must not share personal contact details with students or parents. All communication must remain within AG Tutoring’s approved channels.
4. Session Management
4.1. All tutoring sessions must be arranged and booked exclusively through AG Tutoring.
4.2. Tutors are expected to give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in removal from the platform.
4.3. Tutors are expected to prepare adequately for each session.
5. Payment & Commission
5.1. All payments for tutoring sessions are collected by AG Tutoring.
5.2. AG Tutoring deducts a commission from each session fee:
The commission rate is variable and may be adjusted based on the tutor’s performance, reliability, and student feedback.
Tutors will be informed of their applicable commission rate in advance.
5.3. Payments will be made to the tutor’s nominated bank account on a weekly basis.
5.4. AG Tutoring is not liable for delays in payment caused by incorrect or incomplete banking information provided by the tutor.
6. Exclusivity & Non-Solicitation
6.1. Tutors must not enter into private agreements with AG Tutoring clients outside of the platform.
6.2. Any attempt to solicit direct payment or bypass AG Tutoring’s systems will result in immediate termination and may result in legal action.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1. Tutors retain ownership of original teaching materials they create.
7.2. By uploading or sharing resources through AG Tutoring, the tutor grants AG Tutoring a non-exclusive licence to use and distribute those materials for educational purposes.
7.3. Tutors must not share or distribute copyrighted material without the appropriate permissions.
8. Confidentiality & Data Protection
8.1. Tutors must keep all student and parent information strictly confidential.
8.2. Tutors must not share personal or sensitive information about students outside the platform.
8.3. AG Tutoring processes personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Tutors agree to comply with AG Tutoring’s Data Protection Policy.
9. Safeguarding
9.1. Tutors must act in accordance with safeguarding principles at all times.
9.2. All sessions must take place through approved online platforms (e.g. Google Meet, Zoom) or in agreed safe environments.
9.3. Tutors must immediately report any safeguarding concerns to AG Tutoring management.
10. Liability
10.1. AG Tutoring is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from tutoring sessions, except where required by law.
10.2. Tutors accept responsibility for the quality and delivery of their teaching.
10.3. Tutors shall indemnify AG Tutoring against claims arising from their negligence, misconduct, or breach of these Terms.
11. Termination
11.1. AG Tutoring reserves the right to suspend or terminate a tutor’s engagement with immediate effect if:
These Terms are breached;
Conduct is deemed unprofessional;
False information has been provided.
11.2. Tutors may withdraw from AG Tutoring by providing reasonable written notice.
12. Amendments
12.1. AG Tutoring may amend these Terms at any time, with reasonable notice provided to tutors.
12.2. Continued participation following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
13. Governing Law
13.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
13.2. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
